Sako Quad
Does anyone own the sako quad.... its a very interesting rifle...4 barrels. 4 calibers, my question is,is this gun accurate? It seems like it wouldnt be as accurate as a regular rifle. and also how much is this rifle. From the looks of it, it cant be cheap.

RE: Sako Quad
I wouldn’t know how accurate it shoots but the price around here for the one rifle with the four barrels is about the same price as one Sako rifle. ($$$$$)

RE: Sako Quad
Ya they are pretty expensive. I've heard they were average, not poor but definately nothing fantastic for the price. I'd rather buy 4 savages or marlins...actually maybe 3 because i have no idea why i would want a 17 hmr2

I had a chance to handle a Sako Quad last week, though I wasnt able to shoot it. The rifle itself is very light weight and appears to be put together well....of course it's a Sako;)The price for it was $760.00 with one barrel of your choice. As you probably already know the barrels are color coded to a caliber. The rifle I looked at was a 17 HMR and had a orange band on the chamber area. The salesman said Burris is making a scope especially for the Quad, it too has a color code that you dial in for the caliber of barrel you are using. All in all it's a pretty neat set up, it does seem that the market for it will be a small one though. I wound up buying a Anschutz 1517 HB and a Ruger 77/17 that day and will have a post on them soon. They are both chambered in 17 HMR. |
