Winshester Super Shadow 300wsm
 

I'm looking for a replacement rifle for a 30-06 710 remington, I was thinking just straight up a 30-06 vanguard (howa) but when I went in this morning I started looking at the 300wsm first in aVanguard then in the Winchester Super Shadow. The vanguards priced at 399 and the super shadow is 499 ( 535 out the door with rings) I'm kind of leaning toward to the super shadow but I'm wondering if I can get a better deal on it else where? I keep seeing people calling them a 400.00 gun so where do you find them for that? Also whats the difference between a winchester from a gun shop or a winchester at walmart? I've heard the finishes are different before but would that be true on a synthetic? anyway any info on the rifle or the caliber would be great.
Mainly I'm hunting whitetales but I'm going out west this fall for elk and mulies and would like to go to alaska next year.

I bought a 270 WSM Super Shadow 2 years ago at Wally World, price was and is $399.95. Very good rifle, 3/4" groups at 100 yards.

There is nothing wrong with buying a rifle from wal-mart , that is so wrong to think any manufacturer would jeopardize there reputation just to sell there rifles to them ---- come on. I like both rifles you have talked about , the vanguard (howa) is a strong action I have seen many custom rifles made with that action even some 6.5x.284 1000 yd.shooters.

know my gun dealer gets my guns sometimes same place wally world does, Sports South I believe it is.....

I'm just asking if theres a difference, the only thing I've heard ( urban mythe maybe) is that the finishes on the wood stocks can be a little different or somthing, just making sure theres not somthing I should know or somthing.
And I found out today that its the ultimate shadow (blued) that they have priced for 535.00 with rings They also have the M77 in sythetic/stainless with rings for 525.00 still doing some looking and figuring out whats the most comfortable.
