scope mounts for a Ruger Redhawk
 

I am currently looking at two different mounts for the Ruger Redhawk. One is by B-Square and the other I am not sure of. Both are listed in the few August catalog I got from Natchez.

An old hunting friend had a stroke and is kind of bummed he can not shoot a rifle to deer hunt, so I thought with a RED DOT on my .44 magnum Ruger Redhawk, I could get him a stand where the shots would not be too far, and he could still deer hunt with all of us (If we have to carry him out there)

What's a good mount for this revolver? Also is this something I could consider a gunsmith installing or is it a rather simple operation? From the photograph of the mount it looks like it attached to the barrel rib of the revolver somehow and the braces against the frame.

I already have the RED DOT but have to hurry so I can sight it in and get it all ready for him to try a few shots before season...

the rear sight comes off and I take it you use that screw hole, but what else? Also where can I get one of these. I never saw one before.

got mine on ebay. i think it was about $40.00. go to the hunting section and type in ruger mounts. usually quite a few choices.:)

I called a local gunsmith and asked their advise of the two different kinds of mounts. They of course recommend the one that required them to tap the revolver. I am more inclined towards the one that does not need to be permanently mounted. My only concern is whether the other would be secure enough. I only wish I could get some hands on.. maybe it is time to travel to some different gun shops and see what they have in stock. I thank all of you for your advise and guidance..

Cayugad, these are integral mounts, just like the rings that come with a
Ruger M77 rifle.
