Marlin Model 60
 

Just thought I would share my review with everyone. I have had a Marlin model 60 .22LR for years but actually put it to the test yesturday at the range. At 100 yards I put 4 stickers up the size of a quarter on a large white sheet of paper. After one adjustment I was able to put 3 shots in the stickers. I was amazed to be able to do this with a .22lr with a cheap 4X scope. I do have to say that when I would put the scope over the stickers they would dissapear making it diffulcult but not impossible. I am very happy with this and can't wait to see some woodchucks or sept. 1st for squirrel season.

Oh yeah... The ol' Marlin 60.I've got one too (I've had it since I was 14 yrs old!), and have since passed it down to my daughter - who BTW outshot me on the range with it. [8D]:D

The Marlin Model 60 loves CCI ammo, and gets gunked up badly with Winchester ammo and Wolf ammo or some other cheaper ammo. The only negative thing about the Model 60 is it can get finicky and absolutely demand to be kept clean after as little as 50 rounds.

Mine liked the bulk Remington round noses best I had to get a die from Hanned so I could flatten the nose and get something like CCI Small Game Bullet. The rifle never noticed the difference.

I love mine. I've probably had it for 25yrs...

They're no 10/22 when it comes to looks and finish, but they are definitely servicable.

After the adjustment to my scope. Out of five shot three would be in the sticker. The stickers were actually Shoot N See stickers that you can you to cover up shots on the target. With the 4X scope the tiny stickers would dissapear in the cross hairs.

I have bought two over the years, one for my son when he around 10, he's 35 now, and one for the wife I used to have. Paid about $60.00 for both and they were definitely good little rifles. As a matter of fact, all I have now are 22 Mag.'s and have been thinking about geting another Model 60 for squirrel hunting and plinking, that is if I can still see the little rats.

i had one and dumped it. it would jam up. a plastic part inside went right after i bought it. whenever i get a bad vibe on a gun i fix it then get rid of it.

I got a couple of those bor my boys. They haven't been shot yet, but they appear to be nice rifles.

That is pretty decent shooting but not unusual for a Marlin Model 60. I have had 2 and they would both do that well. But one I had didn't ever feed right. It went to the gunsmith 3 times but no avail. However the other one was a gem and it shot any brand of ammo well and really liked the hi velocity stuff. MArlin Probably make the best cheap .22 right now (although the savages are great too).
I actually just did some quick mental figuring and I have 8 .22 rifles!!
