The A-Bolt is a very good gun for the money. They have a smooth and short bolt throw. The trigger on mine is not the lightest but, it breaks clean. It is a accurate shooter as well. The Tikka WhiteTail Hunter is a better comparison to the A-Bolt.

Bigcountry, is Browning's BOSS system very effective? I see it's about a $50 adder at Wally's.

Couldnt tell ya CZ, don't have muzzlebreaks on my guns. Just not my thing. I see people really like it.

At the range where I work, Brownings are some of the best shooting rifles that show up.

Never owned an Abolt that did not shoot well. Also never had any problems with them. Tikka is also an excellent buy.

I have a Browning A-bolt stainless stalker with a boss on it,not a muzzlebreak the conventional recoil model.It is in a .270.I have an after market trigger in it and a Pachmayr decelerator recoil pad.It is a fantastic shooting gun and a pleasure to carry.

($550.00 + -) That is for the Micro Hunter, other models go for 100 or 200 more even at wally world.

The thing is that even when some people say they are overpriced, A-Bolts are worth every penny invested on them.

In my personal opinion, on the accuracy department they are better (Out of the box) than any Remington, Winchester, Savage or Howa. On the other hand, regarding design and beauty, they are far ahead of the above mentioned rifles.

Cant buy a better rifle for the money. There kinda expensive up here in canada running $850 for just the a bolt hunters. The only downside to browning is cutomer service if you have to order a gun you may not get it for a year. with shotguns anyways they make one large shipment a year and thats all or so Ive been told.

I have a Browning A-Bolt light weight composite Stalker. It shoots very well and handles and work slick as a whistle. I would certainly buy another. Mine is a 308.

The browning is much better. Yes the tikka is garunteed to shoot 1 inch groups but it has alot of plastic in it. The browning will be a much better investment over time, much more rugged, accurate, slick action. I did alot of shopping and found my abolt used at a pawn shop for 300 bucks! And it actually shoots well.
