They ain't a hunting sock if your not hunting in them. They are lounging socks.
When it's really cold I found that a thin silk sock next to your skin with a quality wool sock over it and a waterproof boot is hard to beat. The silk wicks moisture away and reflect heat back to your foot. The wool is a great insulator. And if it is really really cold a charcoal type (toastie toes) heater between the 2 socks under the toes can't be beat. |
Any of the "smart wool" socks work well for a hunting sock for me. They are warm, soft and hold up great. The only drawback is price.

Marino Wool socks and only those, have used the more synthetic blended moister wicking socks and they are good, but after one trip out with some sweating they had to be washed. The wool ones would last a couple trips at a time.

In cold weather, As long as its a wool hunting sock
Like the kind I used forty years ago, successfully hunting a deer in minus 10 degree weather.
Feet and toes still work. Go by that. |
