I'm new to this forum,or any forum for that matter. This is the first and only one I've registered with.
I have really been enjoying it but, yesterday, I came across something that disturbed me. In the traditional archery forum, someone was asking about the position of the **** feather when shooting an arrow. This was edited.
Now, I've been doing this archery thing since the late 1950's. I've taught men, women, & children, worked with the Boy Scouts, taught hunter safety, and worked with National Bowhunter Education Foundation programs using the terms **** and hen feathers with no problems. With firearms and non-traditional archery there are several rifles, pistols, release aids, cross bows, etc. that need to be ****ed to operate.
Are we getting ground up by the political correctness machine or is this just someone's pet peeve?
This is a hunting forum, correct? I mean, seriously, all the threads and posts, with all the lively banter back and forth, are aimed at getting out in the woods to kill something. While we may not all be adults, in the legal sense, if we can't comport ourselves as adults here, then what business do we have running around the woods with lethal weapons?
Personally, I feel that this whole PC movement is BS but, that's another rant for another forum.

No I do not think that you are paranoid. I agree 100% that the politically correctness is ridiculous. Some of the most common things are being * out because of the censor system. One of the ways I have seen it bypassed is to put a zero in for the o such as in a crossbow c0cking aid so that new people trying to learn on here are not looking at ****ing aid and wondering what the heck was supposed to be in there for the **** I know I have had to look twice to figure out what they were trying to say and then figuring it out from there but some people dont have a clue and need to know what they are trying to say. But the whole reason they put the system in place is probably because one bad apple ruined it for everybody.

It's a program built into the forum software that automatically edits certain words that can be used in a vulgar way. Saves moderators a lot of time, but sometimes it edits a word it shouldn't. The program doesn't care who you are--it won't let me talk about ****ing a gun, or aligning my **** feather either.
I ran across this by accident. If you have a question about a particular forum, you'll generally get a quicker answer by p.m.-ing the moderator of that forum, or some moderator.
