Few questions
 

Heya, want to know a good price for a couple of guns I want to sell. Got my eye on a Silma O/U shotgun from Italy but inorder to get it, I have to sell a few things. I have a ruger 10/22, good condition and remmington 870 express, 12 ga. ok condition. How's bout $100 for the ruger and $125 for the rem 870? Would that be a fair price?

Also, been reading hunting dogs forum. Why are people so set on GSP? Noone talks about pointers and setters even though they dominate field trials and the hunting fields of the Southern states. If GSP noses are so good, why do they lose down birds so often? I remember hunting behind a setter for four years of hard core bird hunting and don't ever recall losing a bird.

Also, have anyone heard of using dogs for deer hunting? I would have assumed it would be illegal but I guess not.

Hey Mite Those prices sound mighty fine if I had the money Id buy the Ruger as I do alot of squirrel hunting but the 12 gauge would tear my shoulder up bad. Before my disability I hunted behind a lot of dogs and the worst was a GSP. The best I ever found was a toss up between an Irish setter and a Brittany. Running a close 2nd was a Liver and white pointer. I dont know what the facination is with GSP's maybe they have gotten better? Myself I never cared for em. Deer hunting with dogs is legal in some states like Mississippi. I hope this helped some Jimmy

When I think of deer hunting with dogs a picture of kid wearing overalls, sitting on a porch playing a banjo comes to mind...LOL sorry, no offense to anyone.

LOL I agree with that. Yes I have a Marlin 60 in stainless I need to get another for myself as my wife has taken my marlin. She took up hunting so I wouldnt go alone she always worried about me. I taught her how to shoot with the Marlin and now she says I have to get me one cause thats her gun for squirrels and she is damn good with it. Jimmy

I still have those guns. I may want to keep the Ruger 10/22 only because I like plinking. The Rem 810 express was given to me. There is a small area, perhaps the size of a nickel on the underside of the receiver where small dots are forming. The stock needs refinishing. I've put it on

I'm in North Seattle, Washington. It's listed as $150 but $125 is fine. I want to give up ducks hunting which I find kinda boring. I have 2 flambeau mallard decoys + 1 I found, cheap plastic gun case, 1 duck, and 1 goose call and and any 12ga ammo that goes with the gun.

I'm going to go with a 20ga. O/U when I can afford it to do upland birds.
