disabled looking for help

Hello,
My name is Tim Riner and I am disabled with COPD and am in need of lung transplant.I am stable at the moment with a constant ozygen supply where ever I go. Before my health went bad i was a avid bow hunter and fisherman. This came to a hault with my health. I am currently trying to get back into the outdoor life but need alot of help to get this accomplished. The sate of Illinois office of law enforcement, the department of natural resources, Brian A. Clark and Jeffery A. Rodier have issued me a Class A - Permanent Disability Standing Vehicle Hunting Authorization and a Crossbow Hunting Authorization permits. This is a great start for my goal but with a disability income of SSI at $540.00 a month income i can not afford anything in hunting gear. Would it be possible for you to contact some of the company's you deal with and see if they would be willing to help me get to my goal of getting back into the outdoors? I am sure there is a worthy company out there or two that will help me meet my goal as a outdoorsman but I need the help from many just like you. I am not asking for money in any way, all I can do is use and promote whatever you may let me.
I thank you for all of your time.

RE: disabled looking for help

Welcome krimit glad to have you here with us! I can relate to your income situation as I only receive $652.00 a month social security disability and that is my only income. There are lots of wonderful organizations out there for us disabled folks but unfortunately to take advantage of their services you gotta have money. I have researched everthing I could find trying to get help in obtaining some items I need to make my hunting easier but I have not found any resource. I have a $4000.00 4 wheel scooter that doesnt have enough power to get me in the woods so I tried to trade it for a used ATV, riding mower, Dirt bike but I got no responses so I am forced to either sit in my car and hope a deer comes out or walk in the 20 or so yards that I can walk and then sit till Im rested enough to go on or come back. It just comes down to money so we have to try and help each other. I have been disabled for the last ten years and in my opinion society will help to see that you have what you need to survive but anything else your on your own. I have a few things that are extras and would gladly send you some if its anything you can use. Post on here the things you need and if I can I will do what I can to get a fellow hunter back out hunting again. Jimmy

I know how both of you feel.

I am on disability to.

And just paying the light bill and phone bill and buying food is hard enaugh.

Then I have no insurance to buy my medicine so I know how you feel.

My 17 year old daughter had some kind of virus that atacked her nervis system and

She lost the use of her arms - hands and legs and went in a wheel chair.

And since she is a 17 year old I can't do the things she needs because I am a man.

You know what I am talking about.

She needs to be helped to the bath room and some one else to bath her.

So my wife had to get medical leave from her job to do it.

So money is real short.

I have 3 chrldren and it is hard just to get the basics.

Then its Christmas and children look foward to Santa.

Oh well keep a upper lip and keep on kepping on.

Thats all we can do.

Good Luck

Tim, have you checked with buckmasters? I think they help people get crossbows. Also, look into joining disabled and physically challenged organizations. Some of them have disabled hunts and have crossbows, ground blinds. Look on www.google.com and look for organizations in your area. Good Luck and God Bless. Charlie

Not taking anything away from Buckmasters they are a great organization but as far as any help towards getting anything they put you on a mailing list and your on your own. My experience. Jimmy

would you require electric start tim? as a motorcycle repairman and avid biker i run across atv's every so often -some have pull rope starts on them-these are cheaper-also the 2 wd atv's are also cheaper but dont go thru near as much stuff, so your trail would have to be fairly clear of mud and fallen trees as time goes by more of these will be traded in for 4wd atv's bringing cost down even more, about 5-6 inches of snow it has a hard time without chains on

i will stay in touch
