Just got classified as "Disabled"... Now what??
I've been an avid hunter and fisherman all of my life. I've also had kidney issues all of my life. Recently I was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease and had to go on dialysis. I want to continue my activities. My question is are there hunting clubs or organizations that will help me acheave my goals as a hunter? I'm in Indiana as the name suggests. So any help would be welcome.

Hey Indy,
You can find info by Googling "disabled hunting." There are many good groups, but don't rely on them for everything.
Only you know your capabilities and limitations. Find one or two buddies who are willing to assist you--then get out in the woods as often as possible.

Sorry, to hear,
My mothers been on dialysis for about a month,
It sucks!!!
Just gotta find your way through it.
As for staying out doors, dialysis shouldn't stop you,
Will change your routine though,
Can't take long hikes where you need fluids,
Remember your 1ltr max daily fluid intake,
And there are groups that can help
Look up owl outdoors without limits. See if they have a chapter near you

Hey Indy, welcome to the club brother. As said in a reply, contact your state's DNR and see what's available in your state. I have gone on several of these hunts and a real nice fishing trip.
Another thing you can do is contact Buckmaster's American Deer Foundation. The have a program that caters to hunters. Also, contact them NWTF as they have the "Weelin Sportsman" organization.
Good luck on your search and check back with us often!
