RE: Team 1 Buck Snipers

Just to keep you all updated, I got out this weekend. Way to hot (upper 70's). I saw 16 deer but nothing close enough. My son (hoyt14) got a doe this morning so now he is all cocky thinking he is king $#!T. I guess he is. Now he can shoot a buck and I have to wait. I am planning on getting out all weekend next weekend. I may even be out until Monday afternoon. If I remember I will take the laptop so I can dial in from the cabin. Then I can update from there. Since I will be on my own and we don't get TV reception a good book and this site are about all there is to do until bed time.

Trophyhuntr -

I'm in Columbus hunting in Harris Co. and traveling to Athens on several occassions to hunt with my uncle and cousin on a private farm.

I'm starting to see signs out and about also. I think the rut will start early this year. The other day I saw three does come hawling a$$ through the woods and just behind them was a 4-pointer. My uncle called me last night and said that he shot a doe that was in a group with a 4-pointer chasing.

What part of Georgia you hunting Trophyhuntr?

trophyhuntr - I know where that's at. I grew up just a few counties north of there. Plus I have family just north of you in Oconee County. Or as some say Slowconee County.

1dahunter - Yes he earned it but I sure do hate the way he rubs it in. This is our 3 year on this property and he has drawn first blood EVERY year. Oh well I hope to take more then him this year. He is busy with hockey, school and gurls (as he spells it). Hey I see ground hunter started a checkin thread. You should go on it and let him know our whole team is here, pumped and ready to rumble.:D

Lock and load you guys. It's going to be a great ride.;)

I will be hunting a T zone here Oct 28 to 31 which is doe only but since I have a disabled permit I can take a buck then if the opportunity presents its self and if my figures are right that should be about smack in the middle of the rut. Them wise old bucks get pretty stupid during the rut. If that doesnt work I have a 120 acres that hasnt been hunted in over 30 years that this super nice lady said I could hunt this year. I feel pretty confident.

Lets get out there and Kick some Buck butt!!!

I also have around 130-150 acres of land that some nice couple offered to let me hunt. I've been easing around and I have found several nice rubs and trails so big you could put a turning lane in the middle. Right now I'm focussing in on the folks rather small garden. Seems to be attracting alot of attention.

Our General Season (gun season) begins November 6th and lasts through January 2nd. It can't get here soon enough to suit me. I'm really starting to get the itch.

trophyhuntr,

I spent Saturday evening out by Hext and the deer there are looking great. I didn't see any big racks, but with all the rainfall this year they are looking healthy and fat. I saw the biggest bodied doe I have ever seen in that part of Texas.

1dahunter - I didn't realize you were as sick as you say. Do what the doc says and get better before the season.

Well everyone I got my doe (I'm earn-a-buck) so now I can start to look for the big guys. I was going to be out hunting today the the weather is just too crappy. We are supposed to get mid to upper 70's today with NO CLOUDS. I just can't take this crappy weather in September.[:'(] My family and co-workers think I am crazy but I think they are the ones who are nuts.;)

Yeah, I've been wanting to book a hunt with them for a couple of years. My buddy and I reserved 2 spots earlier this year, but a guy in a pickup hit me while I was riding my Harley and shattered my right wrist. I told the outfitter to release the spots he was holding for me because I didn't think I would be able to hunt this year, but I have recovered much faster than the doctor thought I would. I called last week and he still had the spots open so we took them.

Went out yesterday to the 120 acres private land that hasnt been hunted in 30 years for a preliminary scout and the main trail is over 6 feet wide with lots of scrapes and rubs, spooked an 8 pointer that was definately 140 class. Going out next weekend and set up a ground blind so they will be used to it come opening day. I have got a real good feeling about this spot. While there I got the ajoining neighbors permission to hunt his land also,(he is the ladys man friend) who let me hunt her place. So all in all I got a little over 200 acres to hunt there. Most of the lanes are big enough that I can use my electric scooter to get in to and a friend of mine made a gun rack to fit on the back of my scooter that holds 4 rifles now if I can just get it camo painted Id have it made.

1da - Where is this place? JK. The 80 that I am on seems dead right now. Not seeing much of anything. I think it is because they are all in the neighbors corn.[:o] Maybe once that gets picked my luck will change. I was getting 15 or so pictures a week on the trail camera and the last 2 weeks I have only gotten 8 total. Just over 3 weeks for the T-zone. I wish you luck.

Have you talked to the neighbor with the corn? See if they'll let you hunt!
