That's correct. Only the ones that go in up front declaring bow only, can count a bow kill.

3. Green scoring by B&C with gross only. (No deducts). Must have picture taken with deer before field dressing and posted on board along with score.
sorry i signed up but i would not be able to take a picture until i get back to camp and unless i will have it mounted i will have no clue what the B&C is.... so i guess you can take me off the list

Rules are rules.......this one is easy. Boone and Crocket scoring. Do a search. You measure your own deer and report it. Pic's are for verification. If you can play by the rules, then fine, if not, see yaaaaaaaaaaa...............I'll take you off the list........

I'd consider jumping in on this, but to avoid some weird problem down the road, I will ask this -- Why does the pic have to be before field dressing? We usually gut it, drag it back and than take pics... Just curious how strict this rule will be before I get it on this because it sounds like fun.

Good point..........I think we can change that, and should. What I was after was a pic showing the whole deer. Good suggestion, and I will make that rule change.

Link to Boone and Crockett score sheet and instructions: [link]http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typwhitetail.asp?area=bgRecords&type=Ty pical+Whitetail+Deer[/link]

What if the buck is in velvet? Are there going to be any deductions in that case?

GroundHunter 09-08-2004 10:16 AM

RE: RULES:Whitetail deer gun* hunting contest

No deductions period!!! It's states green score, so you can score it immediately, velvet or not.

GroundHunter

Good change to allow field dressing before pic.

Don't know how strict you want to be but you might consider requiring some indicator that the pic is a current one . Could be a data & time stamp, or some other "date" reference such as a news paper / magazine / etc. in the pic. Don't know of any camera made today, except maybe those throw aways, that can not put a date & time stamp on a pic. OR showing a current news paper or preferably a current magazine in the pic should be simple enough for anyone to do.
