I agree with you hunter. It is amazing how this corn slows down big buck movements. Luckily this year the harvest is way ahead of schedule. Our best hunting times are the first two weeks of November and that seems like a lifetime away. We have one timber in particular that is absolutely buck crazy during the rut. We are in a few other areas this year and it will be interesting to see what they produce during the rut. I have some vacation time during the rut so it should be fun. This morning was absolutely gorgeous, about 45 and calm, wish I could've taken a seat. I will be out this weekend, hope the cool weather sticks with us. Good luck everyone.

We still have plenty of time to catch up. Things will pick up in the next 2 weeks. Pre-rut should trigger some more bigger buck activity... We have good storm on the way for Friday/Saturday morning..Sat evening will be good...

Guys, I just don't know if I'll be able to take staying at work all day tomorrow...I see me leaving at 2:00 to get in my tree. Others skipping out on work today or tomorrow to hit the woods?

I got shutout this morning, and went to a new spot tonight. I saw two does, 3 squirrels, 2 possum, and a coon. Lots of noise in the corn and on other side of hill though. I will hunt there again in the morning and then possibly move stands to accomodate movement. Good luck!

We have two entries, one for team 15 and one for team 6 without the bow in the picture. We know these two states don't have gun seasons open at the moment so the bucks will be entered but as the gun seasons open, we will not be able to accept entries without the bows present. I know when we shoot an animal and we get the pictures taken, etc...we're excited and not thinking about the contest...but a good quality picture, even for yourself means including the weapon in the photo.......team capt's...make sure your teams know.....I'd hate to eliminate someone's animal over this.

I got shutout again this morning, but got a chance to scout this timber some more. I have the stand in the right place as buck sign is beginning to appear. I found an 18" diameter scrape among 3 others I came upon. I also noticed alot of rubbing beginning to be visible. Hopefully the farmers will have a good week and we can get rid of some of this corn. Good luck everyone!
