Why not just go to a archery shop, most have ranges. Pick out 2 or 3 in your price range and shoot a few bolts from them and make a decision on what you like rather than what others like.

Last year my gifted me on my birthday Center Point Heat 425 Crossbow is the perfect crossbow that was used for the previous 2 years. Center Point heat 425 is very durable and affordable crossbow if your budget under $500 You should need to check these Best Crossbows Under $500

I really like my Carbon Express 390. I have shot at 3 doe and a buck and have taken all of them with it.

I love my Ten Point Titan M1, USA made, and has the Acu crank cocking mechanism.
