2020 Ten Point

The 2020 Ten Point crossbows were shown at the recent ATA show and I think I want one when they are finally in the stores. From what I have seen they look very nice indeed. The top-of-the-line Vapor is a reverse limb bow, and quite expensive. The other models are less expensive and have regular limbs. Are reverse limbs that big of a deal?

No. But they do make the bow narrower and easier to carry/maneuver etc. If you have the extra money and like them they are probably "worth" it. But not needed.

i just recieved there 2020 catalog & 1 crossbow was listed @ almost 3500 . couple of them were listed around 2500. i've got their wicked ridge crossbows & both of them were under 500. sure the 1 expensive bow shoot 470 fps . but my w/r bows shoot 300 & 330 fps & do the same as there expensive bows . KILL DEER. can't see & can't afford a 3500 dollar bow.at that price it better guarantee a monster buck & be able to gut & drag it out.

I'm still using an almost 20 year old Horton lol.

Some of the new 10pts you can decock, that is let the tension off without shooting it.
I'd need to read more on that.

decocking would be nice but i always discharge by shooting into my block as a practice shot

The reverse limb Vapor package runs about $3,000 and comes with about $900 of accessories if you count the scope. It comes with a dozen arrows, hard case, etc. The Vapor shoots a 400 grain arrow approximately 460 fps. I am sure it is a very nice bow but I do not think I need that much power and that seems like a big stack of cash for a crossbow

The one that caught my eye was the Viper package. It is "only" $1,500. It comes with a scope and a few arrows. The Viper has regular limbs and shoots a 400 grain arrow approximately 400 fps..

Both of these bows have the new trigger and the cocking/decocking device.

I do not know much about crossbows (the same as almost all other subjects). I know they have become very popular lately and are now legal in many (not all) states. As I am getting a bit "long in the tooth" I can see that some day in the (near?) future a crossbow will be a good alternative to my Hoyt.

nice crossbows, but at those prices they are insane

expensive and affordable crossbows have one thing in common.....they both kill
