Default cross bow hunting

This past weekend I shot a nice 10 point hitting it in the shoulder blade with ten point xbow at 29 yds. No blood at all. Watched it run off with bolt stick out of shoulder (about 60 yrs than lost sight). What are the odds he survived?? Spent two days looking for him, looking for buzzards, smell or coyote signs. Anyone have an experience like this......

Yes I shot one 2 yrs ago and arrow stuck in front shoulder no blood never found him. Then my uncle shot at a buck on opening day of shoot gun that year and as we were skinning it found broken off broad head in front shoulder. So he will probably be okay .

Don't shoot in the shoulder! I'm sure you know that and sometimes it just happens. That's hunting though.

I took a dear that had a chunk about the size of your fist missing from a wound to the left chest and shoulder. It had healed over , you'd be amazed how tough they are, better luck next time

Same goes for bear. We had a guy in our camp last year shoot a bear and thought his bullet had passed through. During the butchering however the shoulder on the opposite side of his shot had a broadhead lodged in it.
