Default crossbow string stuck back!!

My crossbow is jammed and will not fire!!

The string is back- cocked and will not fire it's bolt. The safety is on and will not push off??

What to do?

Thank you.

It's a Barnet Recruit Recurve

I would try having someone pull back on the string with the cocking rope to take some stress off the trigger assembly while you try to take the safety off. If the safety comes off, put the bolt back on the bow and shoot it out to relieve the tension on the limbs. Then take it to a bow shop post haste. What ever you do, do not shoot it with no bolt on the bow.

some xbows have a safety lock on them try a different bolt make sure the string is seated all the way into the knock---if still no go pull back on cocking rope while another person pulls on trigger then slowly with firmness let the string down the rail try these ideas

you can always take it to a bow shop, they can put it in a press and make unloading it SAFE for all
and odds are they can also tell you what's wrong

that can be a dangerous situation, cross bow strings when they fire can cut fingers of, so BE careful!
