Compound or recurve crossbow?
Which do you prefer? I am leaning towards a recurve but want some opinions

My Camx is a compound and without issue. I can highly recommend it.

What's your spending limit. That could help determine which one to get. Or do you not have a limit?

probably around $500

I have an Excalibur exomag which is a recurve. Good bow, accurate and hits hard. It's a little big so I guess it depends on how and where your are hunting. Honestly in the better known brands I really don't think you can go wrong between the two. I guess the main thing would be on an extended trip I could pack an extra string and that's really all that can go wrong with my bow, where a compound has more parts so more could fail.

Picked up the new PSE Fang today guys, not sure how it will be but we'll find out I guess! Package deal so I'd say I'll have to upgrade the scope

With so many posts over the years on limbs, pully,s,etc failing on compound models I,d prefer to stay recurve.
|
I like both types, & i have models in each type that i jus love. Both are easy to work on & no press is needed, plus they both have lifetime warrantees

I have a Tenpoint recurve and like the idea of less parts and working on it myself. Compounds are definitely more compact, but many have limits on how long they can be drawn, as low as 4 hours on some types.

Ten Point makes a recurve?
