Wow! Thanks! Is it a shop? I can order through him?

OneBear 03-18-2014 02:36 PM

Yes you can order from him He is probably the biggest and best archery dealer online He has more knowledge than anyone else when it comes to crossbows. He is super honest, very helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. no pressure to buy anything. You can look at his website www.wyverncreations.com

yep deal with him or if not, at least stick to one of the better name brands like tenpoint, excalibur, parker, etc.

Well I bought the barnett recruit. its a 130lb draw, 300ft p/sec and 80 ft lbs

seemed perfect for me. Its small light easy to draw.

question is, is it good for boar hunting?

It's a tad late to ask I'm thinking. And a tad light for pigs IMO.

Just use fixed broadheads... and dont go past 40yds..

willc86 03-21-2014 03:40 AM

well they said its suitable for pigs. Just wanted more feedback

OneBear 03-21-2014 03:45 AM

To light for pig hunting, too light for most any kind of big hunting. Cheaply made, not reliable, off shore P.O.S. You get for you pay for.

willc86 03-21-2014 03:49 PM

does anyone have any other opinions about the barnett recruit?

300 fps and 80lb ft/lb energy

was wondering if this would be good for boars. just looking for extra opinions

OneBear 03-21-2014 04:25 PM

If you read more you will find the the large majority of dedicated crossbow user stay away from Barnett Those in the know go to Excalibur, TenPoint, Wicked Ridge and BowTec and some to Parker. You get what you pay for and buying cheap will bite you in the butt soon than later. Reliability, dependability ,quality, warranty and customer service also comes into play! The guys here tried to give you some good advice but it appears you didn't want thier advice!

Horton Havoc is really lightweight and small. It shoots great too,
