Can I use shwacker broadheads with a crossbow?

like the shwacker and rage broadheads, wondering if they can be used?

How fast is your crossbow?

The vert bow version may open prematurely when shot from a crossbow, esp if 350 fps and up. However, they now have a crossbow version with a stiffer collar. In fact, I notice that all the new releases by this co. have plastic collar rather than o rings.

My Shwackers work as intended out of my 10 Pt Titan.

I have shot regular swhackers out of crossbows that shoot all the way to 380fps, 365, 350, 360 and down. Never had a problem with them.

its a Parker Tornado F4. 340 I believe is the speed. I saw some rage broadheads today at dicks that said for crossbow, but cant find anything about swhacker crossbow specific.

When crossbows shoot well over 300 fps crossbow designed mechanical broadheads should be used to avoid premature deployment.

I emailed swhacker and this was their reply:
Tom,
Thanks for writing. Yes, you can use all of our heads in crossbows.

Best,

However, I went on their Website and found these: http://www.swhacker.com/product/swha...grain-175-inch

So if I can use any of their products, why would they make a crossbow specific head?

I can answer that, the wings on head were damaging some arrows used with crossbows because they are thicker, they resolved it, or said they were goig to y making a crossbow specific head. I know this, because I had the same arrow damage last year, minor damage for me, but this is what I was told by one of there reps. As I said in first statement, zero problem at any speed ive shot with these.

I just use the normal swhackers for crossbow. A small washer a little bit bigger than your carbon arrow will keep mechanicals from breaking your arrows.

You might want to read up a bit on angling shots with them. I found some complaints online for rage heads just zippering the skin on severe angles and not penetrating. The swhacker is better at severe angles.
