HOrton Yukon crossbow
What are folks' impression of the Horton Yukon bow?
I was looking for a entry-level bow to start since this would be my first legal season hunting with one in SC and wanted to know what folks think of this model bow's performance. Thanks. |
I am hearin the Horton's doors maybe closed while tryin to restructsure! If'en a used one fer $120 or so, they are decent entry lvl models

I have a Yukon- I've hunted with it for about 7 years. Here are my pros & cons...
Pros: -inexpensive -sturdy, durable construction -has held up well over time -accurate -fairly small and light Cons: -very loud (though most x-bows are), with lots of vibration -slow (250 fps give or take) -related to slow - rainbow trajectory- need to know your ranges really well -very heavy trigger pull Overall it has treated me well, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you are really on a tight budget and you found a really good deal on one. There are a lot better bows out there for just slightly more $$$. Overall I do like Hortons though. I had not heard that they were having financial problems- that could be an issue if they really are going out of business. Last year I bought the Horton Brotherhood, which is a vastly better bow for $300 shipped - including the scope, quiver and 4 bolts. (I had originally bought the Yukon used with no accessories for $180 or so). |
