Just picked up my first crossbow

After reading several posts about contacting David at Wyvern Creations, I did just that. I ended up with a Wicked Ridge Raider.

Can anyone shooting a Raider currently recommend a nice bolt and broadhead combo. I have read that the 100gr slick tricks fly nice and do great job of dropping dear. But what is everyone else using?

Lots of folks recommend the Slick Tricks. I shot my first crossbow deer yesterday morning with the 100 grain 2" cut Swacker. I must say I was very surprised and very very impressed with its performance. They shoot the same POI for me as my field points. The doe I shot had an entrance hole just over 1" wide and an exit a tad over 2"s. She fell dead about 20 yards from where I shot her on a double lung shot. I found the arrow and touched up the blades and it is razor shap again and ready to kill another.

Nice work! What arrows are you using?

I shoot a Warrior. I was using Ten point Pro Elite carbon bolts. I have switched to Easton Power Bolts with good success. I tried Slick Tricks at first but I had a hard time getting them to spin test good and shoot straight. I switched to Rocket Meat Seekers with limited success. I am trying Sidewinders this year. I loved Steelheads before they lengthened the blades and shortened the body. They were able to increase the cutting diameter, but at what cost? Now the blade tips and broadhead tip are nearly the same on impact. I would never take a quartering with them now. It is a shame. They were great heads. You couldn't take hard angle shots with them before but it wasn't nearly this bad.

Been using SlickTricks for many years and have never had a let down They fly to same P.O.I. as field tips, perform flawlessly on every critter I have shot Never lost a critter and always a great blood trail Combined with GT Laser II's; 100gr brass inserts and 2" Blaser Vanes it makes a perfect combination.

My Slick Tricks were incredible on my compound bow. I put the same heads on my Wicked Ridge Warrior and couldn't get them dialed in. I wouldn't normally use 100 grain heads on a crossbow but that is what Ten Point sends on their bows now. I called them and asked if I should use 125 grain heads and they said 100 would be fine. I didn't want to screw with their set up so I tried the 100 grain Tricks. I loved them on my compound but not on my crossbow.
