Default Got a doe tonight!!!

Well I finally got one! Shot a doe at 20 yards. Perfect shot slightly quarting to me. Hit it straight through the heart. Then the arrow hit the opposite rib cage and exited 3/4 way back. Got a little intestine. I waited for 2 hours before looking. I found her almost 500 yards away! I couldn't belive that. I've never seen one go that far with a heart shot like that.....

didn't have a camera till I already had her skinned. I aged her at 2 years.

Check out this entry wound. I was using the Rocket MeatSeeker mechanicals. It sure did a good job....

That's a fine slab of meat there. Congratulations!

That's very strange it went that far given where you hit it. The last deer I hit like that only went 100 feet. Was there much of a blood trail?

Very little blood...I couldn't find any in the immediate vicinity of the shot. There was a lot where it laid down. I didn't back track to check it out. I actually just happened to stumble upon it laying behind a huge blowdown.

Thanks alot guys! I am very happy with my harvest. I was starting to wonder if I would get one during the first 1/2 of Indiana archery season.

Thanks a lot Smoke! I also got a real nice buck with my Omega during firearm season. For what I was able to put into it, it turned out to be a good year....
