96 yard crossbow kill
#12

This season I decided to do some long range target shooting with the crossbow just to see. It took some practice but I got pretty decent out to sixty yards, which is as far as I shot. I could keep good groups, but I wouldn't try it on any game. The flight time was long, And the chance of the animal moving is way to high for me to try it. 30 yards is my limit on game still.

I shot a deer at 63 and 61 yards. Quick kill. These new bows shot super flat and hard. IMagine if you guys had equipment of 20 years ago....It would be unethical to shoot at a deer at 20 yards by most of your guys standards. With new equipment and a range finder....-
Fifty yards is a chip shot anymore. In my OPinion

Geez, another one that doesn't know that bow hunting is supposed to be an up close and personal experience and will wound one that moves a little before the arrow/bolt gets there! We won't hear about those just like we don't hear about the losses a gambler has more of than wins! People calling themselves hunters that are shooting at animals at these ridiculously long ranges with bows and rifles make me sick. PS: Craig Morgan is an azzhole!

just because your not good with your equipment doesnt mean that i cant be. 63 yards shot went through the deer and stuck into the dirt about a foot. Plenty of kinetic energy left. you could use the same pin from 0-40 yards. Mr6 is pretty impressive. Maybe a compound bow is just better equipment than a crossbow? Not sure

96 yds - STUPID, if done with a crossbow!!!
63 yds - STUPID, if done with a crossbow!!!
What if the animal jumps the string???
How about a gust of wind???
How about an equipment failure???
Too many variables to even consider these long distance shot by anyone!!!

The laws of physics makes this TOTALLY impossible!!!
That is if you're implying that you can hold "Dead On" your mark from 0-40 yards.
If you're using the "Kentucky Windage" method then 1 pin works for as far as your bow will cast an arrow.
