What crossbow to consider?

ok well im new to crossbows, ive never shot one. I hunt with a compound bow and i kinda want to make the switch. Ive killed 2 bucks out of my 3 years of hunting with mine. I kinda want to buy one to mix it up, but i dont want to be called a "cheater" or saying that hunting with crossbows is "cheap" and "easy". Yes yes i have done this to my friend, but after researching i have learned that using a crossbow is basically the same as using a bow. You get more power with ur bow for the length ur pulling back and the weight, and cross bow gets less because the low draw length so really people have proved to me on youtube that the crossbow is not easy. What crossbows can i get for around $400? maybe excalibur or some bow brands like Parker makes some, horton. Can u guys suggest a model that is fast, accurate, and in my Price range?

I have about 3 of them in that price range, but when you get another $100.00 bringing it to $500.00 a lot more are availible. All mine are packaged bows with arrows, quiver, scope/site, etc.

It's 2X the $400 you stated, but the Parker Tornado I just bought has been a sweet shooting set-up. Light, dead on consistent accurate and apparently plenty fast enough. I am 6 for 6 with it out to about 42 yards.

Be very careful. Some of the less expensive models cut corners that end up being a real mess. I saw one model that was priced around $400 that used a Teflon tape strip rather than a quality cable slide (not the rail, but the cable crossing). After 50 or so shots, the tape was essentially gone in places, and rolled up in others. The wear on the cable rendered the set-up essentially unusable.
