sizeing chart!

Does anyone know if there is a Bolt sizeing chart,
so u can see what grain bolt to buy with the gr tip on for the poundage of the crossbow?

Like they have for eastern arrows?

The people at cabelas are really confusing me!

Everyother salesmen there,
says something different to me!
they tell me to shoot 100gr with the parker 20"carbon express bolts the other says 125.
another will say u can shoot any grain tips will be fine?????
Cause the bolts are already 400gr.
he said see its says right on the pack!
I said i think that means with fieldtip attached?:rolleye0011:
I want to be in the middle, not underspined and not overspined!!

Sorry about the rambling, they have my buddy and I confused..
Thanks inadvance,

I know of no chart, but the mfg will suggest what they use, or market. For instance the Barnett arrows from Barnett, I believe are Easton's! I like the heavy tip from 125grs on up to the 175grs. Depending on the xbow I am using. Darton has a very fast bow and produces two speeds one with the standard arrow and one for Michigan speed law, keeping it below the 350fps. I have most brands, but sell more of the Gold Tips.
Most bow companies have their speed rated with a 420gr arrow.

That is one of the reasons to purchase a $15-$20 digital scale so you can make sure. If yer total weight of arrow is with-in 10-15 gr of company, you shoudn't have any trouble. The newer GT II are 146 gr then add in 110 brass front insert & so on. Most sites will have weights on their components.

There is no such chart that I'm familiar with. Crossbow arrows are undergoing so many changes recently that it's hard to keep up with the issue. Weight is important but so is FOC (forward of center ratio). Parker (and others) came out with their Red Hot arrow with built in FOC.
I would look to the manufacturer specs for you bow for minimum weight requirements. Spine is a non issue IF you use arrows meant specifically for crossbows. Not knowing the kind of bow you're shooting, I can't advise you on arrow weight. FWIW I shoot 405 wt arrows in my 290 and 315 fps bow but 445 in the 365 fps compound. A heavier arrow puts less stress on bow component is quieter and delivers more kinetic energy.
Don't be surprised that the Cabella's guys don't know about this topic. Most of em SELL crossbows, most I've talked to have never hunted with one; "shot it in the back room" at best.

You might want to give Parker a call and see what advice they have for you. I'd do that first before I took a chance of blowing up my bow. Dee
