Quieter crossbow?

I have a Parker Terminator, 150 lb., any suggestions on making it quieter? Would an extra set of limb-savers help?

Also, what's the quietest crossbow out there?

Had one, great little bow, wish I hadn't sold it.
Anything you do to 'silence' your bow will reduce it's arrow speed and won't be that effective anyway, when compared to vertical bows. ALL crossbows are inherently loud, largely due to their much heavier pull weight.

The deafest deer can hear the quietest crossbow.
It's just a fact.
Don't get to caught up in noise reduction.it's almost a moot point.

Horton makes the Vision, which is pretty "quiet" but no crossbow is completely quiet.

Mebbe the noise is in Chinese and the deer just don't understand it?:s4:

Quietest crossbow I've ever shot (by FAR) has been the Barnett RC-150. It's also the smallest and slowest crossbow I've ever shot. At 20 yards and under it is a great little bow- I took a nice 7 pointer with it at 7 yards- but I found past 20 the accuracy got erratic and the arrow drop became pronounced. It also ate strings like hungry hippo....

Have a Excaliber and like some others said don't get caught up with noise. If they are 20 yds or less they won't jump the sound as the arrow is too fast. I have shot deer every year and never had any silencers of any kind on my bow. Just another thing to buy that you don't need. Kind of like the speed everyone gets caught up in at some point. Heck my longbow is slow and no problems. Crossbows are so fast within range it isn't a problem. Just go hunt and forget it and you will see. I don't use scent lock or scents or even reley on camo too much. Shot one of my biggest deer wearing blaze orange with the bow. Get my three deer every year. You can and most overdue all the gimicks and gadjets. My 2 cents.

My Excalibur Y25 with an STS, Cat Whskers and a Flemish string made from 452X is as quiet as it gets.

Nice gear, Don! Those strings are almost too pretty to hunt with. Must be quiet cuz people just LOOK at em.;)
