Noisy Crossbow?

I read, that Recurve Desings are really quiet? If true, why is my Excalibur Exocet noisy? She lets out a pretty good noise when shot! And I have rubber string silencers on, and Limb savers too!

NO crossbow is quiet, if you're used to a vert. bow. And there isn't much you can do to make them quieter without slowing the speed of your arrow significantly. Plan on one close shot at a relaxed deer. And they so using one is so much more advantageous, hah!

Yep, if you can make a fast quiet crossbow you would be a rich man.

Pretty much string whiskers, limb savers and string stops are all you can do and not loose a bunch of speed.

Recurves are generaly louder than compounds....they are all loud though

What the he!! do you know?? You have owned one crossbow. a Barnett, for less than a year. I don't believe you have the foggiest idea what crossbows are about, let alone if they are noisy or not!

I'll vote for whiskers, string stoppers and in some cases string material. If a wood stock can be had it will help as well.

Funny, I've read that Recurves are Quieter than Compounds!
