still confused on which broadhead to use
O.K. I have to admit that I am still confused on what type of broadhead to use out of my Parker Buckbuster 175. I bought some NAP Bloodrunners but haven't opened the package yet as I have seen some bad reviews on them. Something like the screws coming out. Please give me some more suggestions. This is my second post but still confused on what to use. Thanks.

125 gr Slick Trick Mags or Griz.

I've been impressed with the wasp sst boss broadheads. They shoot close or exactly the same as field points and they are tough. Very reasonably priced too.

Rage 2 blade
I have been shooting rage 2 blade out of my horton 175 for 3 years now, they fly just like a practice point. And when you hit something with it ,you won't beleive the entrance hole.

Just go for the G5 100 gr. Strikers, you will not be disappointed, they fly the same as field points, are very tough and make quite big devastating wounds. You can’t go wrong with them. It may be helpful to go and have a look at the reviews that buyers have placed on them at cabelas and bass pro web pages.

Muzzy MX-4. 100 grains

BH's are among the 20 other things that someone said this that & most of it hear say! what another persons CB shoots and does doesn't mean yours will react the same. CB's are unto themselves, you may have the same model as i do but it shoots diff. if you like that BH then at least try one with real open mind. they must have caught yer eye/mind or you wouldn't bought them to start with. i have no stock in that company which ever one it is. ppl & their reviews & views are just that their's! most things in life are about trying & learning. have a good one

Dude it's not rocket science...
Muzzy's or Wasp's Take your pick... They are both good heads and will shoot good out of your BB 175.. |

Archery Talk has a post going on right now about them.:guiness: |
meat seekers
I have hunted with them already and they fly exactly like a field tip. 100 grain meat seekers. Buckeyefootball

Strikers, Montecs, Magnus SS Snuffers, Slick Tricks, Spitfires are all solid performers. Some have some reports of being finiky like the Rage(blades come loose from the o rings), Muzzys(have POI difference between field point and BH) etc but most work well and most have varied results but from what I've seen and read the first 5 that I mentioned seems to be the best to start with. Goodluck, it's confusing. Don't put too much stock in negative comments about BHs.

Bloodrunners are a good head but are not a good choice for crossbows. They can possibly open when the bow fires (they do close for flight) because of the high force applied to the arrow. If they open they could contact the bow and mess with arrow flight. I would highly recommend the Hellrazors or the Spitfires, both work well!

Rage rage rage
Easy RAGE 3 blade. Shoot straight (50 yds) Are devastating on a deer.

There's a lot of good broadheads out there. Like someone else said, it's not rocket science. Just make sure you practice with one of the broadheads you are going to use for hunting to make sure your point of impact is going to be the same (this usually isn't necessary with mechanicals). I've used several different heads (NAP thunderheads, Cabelas Lazer Strike mechs, Slick Tricks)- all worked just fine as long as I put the arrow where it needed to be.

I don't think there is a BH out there that won't do it's job if you do yours.
Sure there may be rare Mech failure or a fixed that just planes all over the place but try out the BH's that you have. If they hit where you want them too than your all set.:s1: I killed plenty of deer with the OLD Plucket's Bloodtrailer. Dull with no cut on contact tip and the blades were never very sharp. They still manged to slide in one side of the deer and out the other and that was one crappy BH... |
Standard Muzzy 4 blade, 100gr. broadheads. Done.
