Texas crossbow Bill
House Bill 968, that will allow the use of crossbows in the Texas archery season, has passed the House by an overwhelming margin of 146-1. It has now been assigned to the Senate Committee for Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
By adding crossbows to the regular archery season, more hunters can enjoy the early hunting season. Crossbows are a great way to get young hunters into archery and keep the older archers in the woods longer. There is also increased revenue generated by licence sales and increased sales tax revenue generated because of crossbow purchases. If you would like to be able to hunt with a crossbow during the archery season, please contact your local Senator as well as the Senators that sit on the committee. They need to be called immediatley because the Bill gets read in Committee on Monday. The Committee members addresses are listed below. If you live in or around Austin and have time, please attend the meeting and voice your opinion on crossbows. The Honorable Craig Estes (Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee) P.O. Box 12068 Capitol Station Austin, Texas 78711 (512) 463-0130 Craig Estes The Honorable Carlos I. Uresti (Vice Chair of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee) P.O.
