Default Darton Crossbows ?

I am fairly new to xbows and xbow hunting, been looking at a few. Does anyone have a Darton? Are they worth the price or are they over-rated? Thanks!!

While they are a little pricy, they are very nice crossbows.
I have the Fireforce, Stinger, and the Impact. These are the models from the last two years.
Yes, I'm very happy with them, very accurate, easy to hold on target (not front heavy like many compound crossbows), very easy to maintain.
The light string load on the track allows the string last nearly for ever.
Don't shoot one bullseye with two arrows, you'll ruin two arrows!

While I've never had to talk to the repair people at Darton, one of the guys on the "Crossbow Nation" site that bought a used one had a problem, he sent it to them and they repaired it with no problem. He did have to pay for it because he didn't buy it new...(no warrenty for second hand bows), he was very happy with the work they did and the comunication they gave him.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike! I been looking at the Darton Lighting. Very fast with 4-5 hundred grain arrows! I have an Exomax now. I noticed on the Exomax that the draw length angles on the string seperate the serving at the claws that hold the string,Do you think this would be a problem with the Darton considering it has a 17.5 inch draw length?

I don't know if the problem is nonexistant because of the Darton string, or what.
The Darton trigger doesn't use "claws" as such. It uses one piece of steel with rounded edges to prevent damage to the string.

I have well over 600 shots thru my Fireforce...with no visable damage to any part of the string, servingor cables.
I'd say Darton did their homework on string and cablelife.

hi
i bought a darton impact over xmas break and am very impressed.

great workmanship and attention to detail i bought mine on gunbroker

it was the one used for the lumenock clips on the youtube and lumenock site.

got a great deal on it, and there are some goodeals on dartons per ebay.

mine 165 lbs and substantially quieter than my 150 lb horton.

there is a site google arrow in apple that has true comparisons of the

upper end bows like the bowtech, excaliburs, phantom and dartons

where you can see arrow speed, arrow weight, kinetic energy and so on

that was very helpful in my decision hope this helps u out

good luck on your descision
