using a tripod rest
I hunt mostly off the ground and frequently from a blind.
Anyone every use a bipod or tripod? |
RE: using a tripod rest
I user a bipod sold by Midway called a Stoney Point Polecat. I have an adaptor on each cross bow so the same bipod quickly snaps on each CB Works great in my ground blinds as it swivels and is adjustable for height.

RE: using a tripod rest
I made this out of a crutch. I load it on the 4 whlr when I'm hauling my ground blind out along w/ another bunch of stuff. There's a notch in the top that just clears my rail bottom so it doesn't slide off. Also stained the red oak since this construction photo, lol.
p.s. if I ever find a replacement door, I'll score the veneer w/ a razor knife like the hill billy that hung this one didn't. ![]() |

One of the neatest and feather light weight rests I've tested is the Horton Knee Pod and it costs only $19.95 :-)

I love that camo tri-pod Sax!
I made mine too, it was pretty simple with instructions from varmint Al's website, I don't use it a whole lot but it is what I consider "disposable" if I manage to lose it. Instructions are here: http://www.varmintal(dot)com/abifu.htm |

It's a plastic material. It weighs virtually nothing!

iver been using painted crutches for years(rifle/muzzleloader). i keep them in most of my trees if im using an open treestand. this year i tried the primos monopod. i really liked it. it comes in 2 sizes.its easy to adjust right at the moment of truth. most of the huntiong stores sells them. i also use it to sight in my xbows when changing out scopes.
