Archery season ended!

today is last day and again its pouring rain and high winds. i am thankful i got my 2 in the 1st week. i have saw 12 deer this year, last year i saw 38. last year there was some wind & rain but about half of what we have had this time. had pack of dogs last year that messed up my hunting some. this year its been a constant thing almost everyday they run chase catch and kill the deer. seems to be 11 to 15 of them. they have growled hair raised and couple chewed at my ladder stand while i was in it. [&o]to be honest thats not a good feeling but glad i was up in stand. tomorrow starts gun season again it will run til Jan. 11th. i am scared they will pull down one of the little children in the area, one arrow from a CB won't stop a pack that size and no way i can load another arrow fast enough nor carry enough. i will be glad to move to Pottersville Mo.on our place in may.

That's why I carry my S&W 640 .357 in my pocket with extra rounds. We have dog hunting here in Virginia. Don't like it, but must say they don't act like that. They tend to be very shy and calm compared to your dogs. The dogthat ran my doe to me was very good dog. He acted very calm and sat next to the doe for a while. When i cam out of my stand he ran off.

Didn't get my deer during bow season this year, but I am still hunting a piece of property that I can only use the xbow on. Will be out there on Monday and Tues.

i should have said they were strays & dumped and neighborhood dogs. most will show their fangs growl hair raise up, not what you want to meet on the ground.

This is exactly what I was talking about. They get dumped and then go ferral. I wouldn't want to try and pet one. They can be very dangerous.
