Cold weather hunting

Been getting snow and below zero temps already this year. Question, how will freezing temps effect my Xbow. What do I need to do to prep the bow? I get to start again on the 22nd.

I guess it all depends on your definition of cold. Never got warmer than -12 F here yesterday and -28 F when I awakened. With two deer in the freezer (a place warmer than outside) I decided not to venture forth. But when I do hunt when it's below freezing, my primary concern is for trigger function. I degrease the inside parts and lubricate with dry lube of Teflon based spray. Use no oil or wax based lube on your rails. Then too you'll have to aclimate the scope well in advance and don't expose it to warmth before you hunt to keep it from fogging.
Equally important is to make sure all condensation gets wiped down after the hunt and bow is treated with anti-rust compound before storing.

I've hunted many days at temps below -20 celcius with no preparation or issues.

I know sometimes the limbs can get cold and lose power. That may depend entirely on the bow and what the limbs are made of too though. I haven't experienced anything significant but all I've shot bolts into in the cold is the ground. Haven't even shot at a deer yet with the crossbow.

If a scope fogs up today with them using nitogen in place of air inside, the seal is bad and it should go back to the factory for repair.

The use of dry lubes is a great idea.
