Sharpening NAP Spitfire mechanical broadheads

I am shooting NAP Spitfire mechanical broad heads. Though I like the initial performance, I can’t keep them sharp. I emailed NAP for advice on sharpening the blades and they told me to buy the replacement blades. That would be a good option if they were fairly priced. Any ideas on sharpening? I usually have success with a sharpening stone, but not with these.

Are you using them to practice with?

Fresh Rockets for me!! If they get used on foam or meat they get retired from hunting. Some heads sharpen pretty well but I figure with what hunting costs me the price of a broadhead doesn't matter.
They might be pricey but premium 12 G. slugs cost $3.00 a pop and I only use them once.

At $35.00 a three pack, I would like to sharpen and reuse.

I guess it depends on how many deer you plan to kill. If it's more than one your a lucky guy.
If the manufacturer does not recommend sharpening them then that might be something to think about. If your gonna use the same broadheads on deer as you practice with you might want want to think about that as well. Can't imagine shooting a deer with the same broadhead I have been using to pound theblock and the rhinhart.
Your gonna let $12.00 determine whether your kill is quick and clean?

Your right Phil. Sorry about being so contrary. Usually not my nature. Good Luck.

Try leather and some green lapping compound. Don't the blades have those thin metal tension clips? They have them on the Gobbler Getters and it says you can only open and close the blades three times before replacing the clips. How does one get around that?

i use a bear archery blade sharpener. its the old type. it looks like a "y" shape on a stick. maybe you could also take the blades off and use a smith type knofe blade sharpener . they sell them at lowes.
