Crossbow bolt holder

Hey Guys,

How snug should the bolt holder be when holding the bolt onto the crossbow? I just got a new Excalibur Phoenix and this one does not hold the bolt onto the rail as tight as my other crossbows or as well as some of my buddies who were shooting with me yesterday. When I point the crossbow towards the ground and shake it a little, the bolt will slide forward. I know I can bend the metal holder to make it tighter but since it came from the factory that way I was wondering if it should be left alone.

Thanks,

GZ

Just bend it down, they need tweaked from time to time. The main problem is you have to take your scope mount off on Excals to get at the two screws that hold the retention spring [aka "bolt holder"] off to bend it. 1/4" should work better for ya. Check your zero when you're done, might need a click or two.

I was at a show a while back and another brand had the same problem. I took an arrow and put it cross ways, pulled it toward the trigger, and it riding on the under side of scope mount tweaked the spring down enough to work. Haven't tried that w/ Excal yet but am going to next time I have to adjust mine.
