which crossbow to buy
 

Have never had a crossbow before but interested in getting one. I don't know much about them but have been reading up on them. thought that you guys and girls that actually shoot them could be a lot of help deciding on which ones to really look at. Will be hog hunting with it mostly with shots coming usally 20 yards or closer. also wondering about scopes? red dot, laser, or regular. any help wopuld be great thanks Jerry

Everyone has their favorite!! Best thing you can do is go to a good shop and try several. You should try compound and recurve CB's. Try Ten Point, Excal, Desert Stryker, Parker, Horton. Chose which one fits you and your budget the best. All haveshoot very well and the upper end models shoot about the same speed, It becomes a a personal choice. All those companies offer life time warranty and all have very good customer service. None of them will be quiet, as there is really no such thing as a quiet crossbow.

Red Dot or a scope is again a personal perference. Some scopes,like the Lumizone and Varizonehave ranging horizonal lines that can light upand adjust according the the arrow speed. Red Dots can have one or three dots. The multiple dots correspond to different yardages. Look through several and see what works best for you.
