perfect choice for your first x-bow i bought mine for 550.00 with right stuff package. I have added a few more extras(custom string, STS and a zeiss z-point red dot)which i find enjoyable. I am probably going to upgrade to an exocet(at the right price)next year for a little more speed and since all my acc. will fit it should be an easy swap. FYI if you can wait go on ebay after hunting season and you will find an xcal phoenix with the right stuff package and maybe a case going for 450.00-500.00 . that bow will have been shot several times to sight it in and then shot a couple of times in the field.there are a signicant amount of people that believean x-bow is superior toa vertical bow but realize after shooting one they both have their advantages and disadvantages. good luck in your search for a 1st bow.
