With a 35yrd distance either will beMORE than ample, but IMO the Phoenix is a smoother shooter than the Exocet and it is a bit shorter so it may be better in the tree for you depending on where you live...

One more opinion in the pile :)

Either bow will work good for you. You did not mention what game you would be hunting, but either would be good for almost any animal in
North America. Actually the largest crossbow moose in Ontario was taken with a 150lb Excalibur Crossbow so those bows should be good for you.

My recomendation to you is to go to a local shop that handles them and see how they feel to you. Also remember that crossbows only shoot stored energy. That is the energy that is in your bow limbs, is only there because you put it there when you cocked the bow. I know of many people that shoot alot of shots (practicing) have gone away from the very high end (speed wise) bows because it is more enjoyable loading the lower poundage bows.

Good luck.

In a tree stand you won't really care. I own and shoot both and the Exocet is noticeably easier to hold over longer periods of time so in a tree it's a moot point. Although not considered safe the Phoenix is a breeze to cock in a stand without standing up so it gets my vote.

Both are good, but from a treestand the Phoenix might work out better.
