My best (most rewarding) season ever! 2 memorable crossbow kills....

First my 7 year old son got a spick buck with a crossbow. (10/22/07)

Like I said, it was a long, hard season, but rewarding.

Congrats for getting your first deer - and at age 12!! You have a life time of deer hunting to enjoy. Pay attention to the postings on this forum and you will greatly increase your knowledge base about CBs and deer hunting in general.

Although I have deer hunted with vertical bow and gun for over 30 years, this was my first year to hunt with a deer crossbow. I am fortunate enough to have access to over 200 acres of timber within walking distance of my house. I took two does and two bucks with CB this year. My family loves venison - I hope 4 deer is enough. I thoroughly enjoyed hunting with my new Excal Vortex with LumiZone scope.

This season was a great on for sure! I took a button buck early in the season. I then took a nice eight point later before gun season. I was able to get my dad back into hunting the last couple of years and he took a four point this year with his shotgun. I also set up a camera on my CB to film my hunts. This years goes down as a good one for me in the books! Also as a bonus my wife started to eat deer meat! She says she loves it!! Its great, I have not bought any beef since November! Sad part is that I will run out of deer some time in the spring I think!

congrats on the 2 bucks,great way to finish season..

we had a lot of big bucks killed this year by kids in archery.

many are8years old kids,killed 10 ,12 and 13 point bucks with compound bows as crossbows are not legal in wmu2g in pa..
i never saw so many bucks killed by real young kids as this year in archery.

i spent 5 weeks of archery and only saw 1 buck and 3 doe.

i had hard year in archery season.:eek:.

Congrats on getting your tick toter! Some seasons are better than others. Year before i saw about 40 deer, didn't get any. No good clean shots or too far. This year i took 2 small rackedBucks. So it was good.

I was fortunate enough to fill all 3 of my tags this year-2 elk and a mule deer buck. This guy is my biggest elk ever (after 10 years of elk chasing). Nice to get youngsters like you into hunting. My son will be hunting with me for the first timethis year after he turns 12.

congrats to everyone on their kills (especially the firsts) and DEER HUNTER 125, don't let the misses bother you. when i was your age i bowhunted from a treestand for the first time and missed 6 shots in one evening. (didn't think about the angle changing anything LOL)
