My Ten Point curve

Would like to leave a little feed back on my new bow.I have about fifty
shots thru her now and as soon as I can get my wife to download the
pictures to her computer I will post them for you to see.I started shoot-
ing with a Barnett Quad 400 and then went to Parker terminators and
really liked the Parker the best.We will leave the other lay,and when I shot the curve I didnt really know what to expect except what Dave
had told me about.First the noise was a lot less then what I was expect
ing, sure the Sims are the reason for that, second, there wasnt the jar
that I had on other bows, especialy the Barnett and really can settle in
to shoot it,the gun range was a blessing, contolled cllimate, etc.I like the
scope that came with it,shot it out of my ground blind lighted dots are
way easy on these old eyes!Again the workmenship and the quality are
hard to beat.Thefeel and the balance are great am going to look into
the Steady Eddy before turkey season, better then my shooting stick I
built.Drawbacks, myself, for not haveing the foresight to order the accu
draw shoulders are acting up and the rope cocker is almost to much.
I have never really looked forward to shooting like I do since I got the
curve, like the lighter weight and seem to move around in the blind a
lot easier then with the Parker! One thing outdoor shooting in the wind
the four inch vanes moved around a lot,the five inch were not bothered
as much thought it would be the other way around,I should have listened
to Wyvern,do not shoot at the same spot it is a tack driver, ruined two
arrows so far myself one and a fellow at the range,he didnt think it would
shoot that good,he did offer to pay for the arrow!Out of the group therewe have picked up four who are disabled and will be buying xbows!
Sorry this isnt better any questions feel free to e-mail or pm me will get
the pic posted asap,later.Marty[8D]

Glad you are liking it Yote and keep us updated. Have you ever shot a Excal much? Was just curious on how you think the downward pressure of the string is on the curve compared to the Excal's. I have heard some say Tenpoints have alot less pressure on the string rail area. Glad you are happy and keep us informed.

coyote170,

Does that particular xbow come standard as a package like the Parkers?

Wyvern Crossbow 02-09-2008 04:36 PM

RE: My Ten Point curve

The string on the ones I have seen have actually not touched the rail, so there is quite a bit of reduction of down force :) The "package" is a quiver, 3 aluminum arrows, and a red dot scope standard (then you can add the Accudraw 50 or Accudraw). If you want a scope instead of the red dot then it has to be swapped out...it is not available as a standard option

Havent shot an Excal Hotburn maybe one of these days,a fellow up in
Jackson came back to me the other day he shoots an Excal,we are
going to dinner at Lamberts the twenty third will probably go to the
gun range afterwards, will let you know,he wants to shoot mine bad
kinda think the Excal is top of the line for now,but watch out for Ten
Point!;)

I was just over on Tenpoint's site. I was considering a phoenix as an every day shooter, but this bow really intrigues me. I would have to swap for a scope since WY doesn't allow hunting with scopes that are artificially lit (i.e. red dots and luminated reticles).

I donno, a Ten Point? A recurve? Hmmmmm donno.......
Well coyote, what IS important is that you are happy! I certainly like my xbows....can't wait till I get my Relayer or S. Maybe, who knows, ya never know!
Recurves are nice aren't they?

Compound. Recurve. Ten Point. Excalibur. Probably the only 3 little letters from keeping a guy from owning 2 of each. Mrs.

Wyvern,

You mean you couldn't just bat your eyes, flirt a little and get your way. Or better yet, tell her you'd be willing to share.:D

No...I mean she looked at me and said "I want one!" Of all the bows I carry, she goes right for the most expensive one. There are times when I wish she was not into this sport at all, but ultimately it is actually pretty cool. Damn her expensive tastes though...:)

RE: My Ten Point curve

Well I hope you have fun with your shoot you have planned with your friend. Mainly asked about the Excal for insight on the string tension, but David beat you to it. Hope you did not take it as me trying to get ya to liking a Excal. I am glad we are getting a more diverse crowd in here. It helps us cover all the bases better that way. Two years ago it was mainly Excal's and a few Horton's. We did have a loose canon that shot a Ten Point, but he was not the most stable reflection for them. So more guys like you getting different bows in your hands helps us all in the long run.

Wyvern,

Sorry I misunderstood. In that case, maybe she'll share with you.

RE: My Ten Point curve

I guess I am the lucky one here. I am very happy with my Pheonix and DNK string and can't see the reason to start an Xbow collection. Out to 30 yards she drops deer like a pole axe. I make it a point NOT to pick up any new Xbows just in case the fever sets in. The Pheonix with all it's small flaws suits me fine. I gotta imagine if I had bought another bow instead of the Pheonix it would do the job at 30 yards just as well.
I don't think I need faster as the only "jump" I have had this year is a startled look in their eyes just before I popped their lungs.

I am not as lucky as Planter, only 1 CB. I have 2 sin twisters they are!:DHave stocks alike so they do look simular. Need to refrain from anymore money leaving my hands at this time. Need to finish the 2 projects i have now. If Excal came out with a set of shorter limbs, i would get them. [8D]

Now Iam thinking....Hmmmm...But really I am going to wait till summer and hopefully just pick up the limbs and riser so all I have to do is switch them around on the Pro Fusion,if the price is right.
Right now Iam trying to figure out how the wife is going to react when she gets home one night this week and there is a 08 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 sitting in the driveway rather then My 07 Tacoma.......[:o];)...

need bigger trk to haul the bigger boats around....;)
