new red dots

have you guys seen these? It say there parralex free from 30 yards. Not sure if that means to 30 yards or after. To 30 yards would make more sense I guess.http://www.bowhunterssuperstore.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=crossbow+sight s&osCsid=287b14a819905fd972bbf5eee11397db& x=0&y=0

If I understand right parralex is the biggest problem with red dots.

I actually have some of these on order. At the ATA show they had alot of glare but that was more likely from the huge lights above us. I want to try them outside. They are very cool though and the compensation is a great feature

what do you mean by compensation?

There is a dial on the unit that allows you to change the spacing of the red dots. THe top one stays put and you have several choices of how far appart the next two down are. If you have a very fast bow you use the dots that are very close together...the slower the bow the farther appart they are. They even have a few choices where the gap between the top and the middle dot is closer than the gap between the middle and the bottom (for very slow bows or very heavy broadheads) It is a selection of several gaps, not individualy adjustable...still very cool

thanks Wyvern. One more question for you. Does being parralex free on a red dot mean If my head is a little out of position the dots will dissapear so that I know I'm out of position?

No, you can move your head and the dots will stay in focus, but they are supposed to also stay centered on the target rather than moving to one side or another. The surface of the reflector is convexed so the dots kinda "roll over the face". Not a good description, I am sorry. Again, not having tried this out yet, I would assume that that feature is from 30yrd to the bow...Kinda useless if it is the other way around.

Anyone know the size of the dots? One thing that has kept me away from many of these types of sighting devices is the size. My Halosight is one minute.

Five MOA is too big IMHO, not precise enough for XB at 30-40 yards. Would be better at 3 MOA.
