blazers!!!!!!

I got my new fletching tool the other day and did up a 2216 with the 2" blazer white tigers and shot it the next with the stealth x-2 w/125 grain ST's, and whalla it flew likw a dart, i also replaced the plastic ends w/aluminum flat nocks for 22 series bolts from keystone c/s. the platnum glue is awesome. what is the correct process for carbons the same as aluminums but you have to use ajax and then hot water??

Ajax and water is probably the best way. I am kinda lazy so I use a 3M pad and alcohol. (not booze like David, Mike and Dan uses, they put the shaft in to a bottle of Captain Morgan and draws the booze through it. That's why they sound funny on the phone)

Not really, Randy, I wouldn't drink that stuff if it was free!:D:D Besides, ya gotta have a heck of a set of lungs to draw thru a 22/64ths straw!!

The name is not coming to mind right now but alot of the fast set glues are of a same basic chemical. Some of them if you use acetone or other chemicals you use can effect the adhesion. So on them particular brands you have to usejust plain hot soap and water after the shaft has been cleaned with alcohol oracetone. I know I seen a difference with Goat tuff glue in this.

I tried all sorts of glues and processes to fletch with varied results. Now mask of all but last 7" of shaft and spray shaft with white lacquer (to dress things up I overspray about 2" of the leading edge with a florescent color matching the vanes). Lacquer dries quickly so I can overspray in less than half hour. Lacquer not only makes the bolt more visible but causes any glue I tried to stick much better. A real plus is the the vanes zip right off if re fletching becomes necessary. The lacquer itself comes right off with acetone.
Now using Goat Tuff, spreads easily and gives about 5 seconds before set.

I do the same and it makes some nice looking arrows arrows. I tried Fletchtite Platinum and it reacted with the lacquer paint. For me Loctite Gel Super glue seems to work the best.

Thanks for the tip HH. Never ceases to amaze me the wealth of information that comes form this site.
The GoatTuff glue really works great for me. I keep two bottles going. One with a very fine hole in tip for fletching and the other one (a previously used "fletching tube") with a larger hole to use on nocks and inserts. I tried LocTite gel too. It holds very well but found it very unforgiving for set time. If I don't have the vanes exactly right when I close the AZ...so sorry, that's where they stay. The GT gives me several seconds to get things right if necessary and slip the collar on but still holds well. And I can still remove the bolt from the jig in less than a minute. To each his own for sure.
But for sure 'm not going back to wraps after doing the lacquer thing.

Ireally like using my 2213's, the flow is much greater than the thicker tubes. i enjoy sipping my Capt. Morgan. Such is the life, sipping sunning on the beach watching the nice views ah yes!:D

OK, crazy question here. I'm trying to put 2" Blazers on a 2216 shaft with a JoJan R helical jig. I can't seem to get the entire surface of the vane to contact the arrow. . .Is that ok? If not, what is the trick? I'm using Goat Tuff. . .which appears to be nothing more than repackaged super glue! lol
