I'm at work and I don't have a crossbow here (just my compound, LOL!). Does anyone here have a picture of the pads against the limbs?

Shouldn't need a pic. Just tighten the screws holding the bars snug, cock the bow and then install pads. Don't gorilla tighten the screws on the pads or you will need new pads, and voila, it's ready to go. As I recall, there isno adjusting the user can make. What I'm not sure on is if you install the diss bars w/ the bow strung or unstrung, I'd go w/ unstrung as a guess.

I just used the stringing rope, put the pads in,let the limbs back, then strung it and all went well.

I have never taken the bars off of mine, they came installed on the CB. I did have to put the pads on and just did like the video said and they went on ok. I do have one screw that is kinda "soft" if ya know what I mean. It has never came out but I know I turned it to hard putting it in. But I think from your post you are talking about the bars and not just the pads. Here is a pic of mine and hope they help.

Here's 2 cents from the cheap seats, lol. The contact between the limbs and the pads at rest is moot, imho. The diss bars and pads come into effect when you fire the bow and the limbs spring forward quite a bit from their position at rest. Proof of this is string damage from too low of a brace height. Regardless of the amt of contact at rest, they have full contact and do their job during the firing sequence. According to a post from a guy that works at the factory on the Excal site, the older screws had alot of threads but the newer ones are shoulder bolt type and just get tightened up.
