Fletching for CB arrows
 

Does anyone fletch with anything other than 5" fletch. Setting up a CB for my son to shoot 3D and thought maybe a 4" low profile would help with a little speed. Thoughts anyone.

Four inch should be fine for 3D. You really should consider Blazers too.

I went 4" on all my arrows and they fly fine.Some guys like the Blazers but I havent tried them yet...

I have been using Blazers 2" for 2 years. I use them for 3-D and hunting and think they're the cats meow!

2" blazers are all I use. Lighter weight & they are as accurate as the longer vanes from my Excalibur.

I was leaning towards the 2" blazers but wasn't sure if they would or would not make contact withanything, I shoot them on all my other bows but this CB is a first for me, but my son shoots it like he was born with it. Thanks for the info I'll try the blazers and I'm sureI'll be asking for more advice.

I use the nap quick spins. They may look better then they preform, not sure if the extra money is gaining me the precision. Am going to try plain blazers this spring.

Jason, i've read about Nap quick Spins, never tried them, but an interesting point was brought up about them. they apparently have a small protusion that causes them to spin more than normal. what I read was if you use the wrong L-R offset, you have the vane fighting the twist applied by the wrong hand offset. Have you heard anything on this?

You are right Dan. The lady at BHSS told me about that. You need a right offset so that little tab can hit the wind and spin it more. At least I think it is called right. When I look at it from above the tip of the vane is pointed to right and the back or nock end is on the left. They work good and I like them. But when I see Dave's groups and here you talk about yours I do not know if what I am getting is worth it. They are pretty pricey!!
