RE: Need Easton Help
ORIGINAL: Hotburn76 Glad you got it figured out! Off topic kinda but has to do with arrows. What is it that I hear people like smoke and others take a bigger arrow and then put a smaller arrow in it to make it real heavy. I thought I heard mike talk about it, but unsure. Any one know what contraption they are building and exact details of what is involved and what is achieved? I've never done it and I'm not sure what those guys are doing but I've heard of people combining arrows too, I know the 20/64" arrows(2013, 2016, 2018, ect.) will slide inside the 22/64" arrows, I want to think that they only work with one size though(2216 or 2219), but I dont remember andcould very well be wrong there if your REALLY looking to add some weight fiberglass fishing arrows slide into the 22/64" arrows too ... ;) |
RE: Need Easton Help
adding the 2013 inside another arrow will stiffen it,will allow you to use 2213 arrowand give more penetration if you are hunting bigger game than deer.
also some feel it helps on foc.. as for mine, i weighted my horton ls lite 2 arrow 20 inch xx75,2216,100 gr point.. i added a alum insert in front to add weight ,took the carbon one out, left carbon one in nock and put on blazer 2 inch vanes.. it weights 400 grs. i would say that the carbon inset in front would make arrow around 375 grs. i was worried that arrow was too lite and is what caused my limbs to split on my horton.. factory told me they stopped those arrows because hunters were using them in 175 pd bows or higher.. new horton arrows are still 2216 but made with new alloy,7075-9 which are stiffer..those arrows now weight 432 grs........ they said anything over 400 grs is fine on hortons........ |
RE: Need Easton Help
ORIGINAL: wabi What did they actually weigh? I read the first post and was guessing you meant 314 instead of 214, but they should be slightly more than that. It was driving me nuts [short trip] as I knew those alum were heavier than that [214 gr] |
RE: Need Easton Help
Here's a thread on Matthias's site on double wall arrows he's tested. Fairly impressive. They do alot of longer range TARGET shooting there:
