A survey on the Relayer
Does anyone think the camo on the limbs is appropriate?
Should they be left alone or a different colour. I realize that this is subjective but lets hear it.  |

IMO the camo goes with the stock..But if they had black limbs the scope would blend in witch would look nice.I think...

HeHeHe! I'm getting black limbs on mine. Danny M is ordering me a set of un painted so I can paint them black, [camo paint and probably the black] has a tendency to flake. The limbs will be the same as the rest of Excals, so putting a set of camo's on it in a year or two to get my million dollar profit won't be a problem, but I gots a black limb Relayer coming, eat your jealous hearts out!!

Another Relayer tidbit, they are coming w/ color co-ordinated strings too.I think Danny said grey, brown, and black. If so, they will be too valuable for me to shoot, will see if I can find someone to make me a copy, lol. Or maybe a black FFF to match my limbs.
Wabi: Thanks for the views on the possibilities! I like the black as it matches the original Relayers. Did you guys know there were only 300 of them made? GT: Your shooting an heirloom and there are no more limbs or stocks available according to Danny. Dnk: Can you serve cat whiskers on FFF's? |

I'd like to see them offer the Vixen with the gray riser & rail and black limbs & stock.........
Or any of the Excals for that matter. ;) The camo finish on my Phoenix doesn't seem to be as durable as the old black finish (paint?) on the Vixen I had years ago, so I'm not sure I buy the argument the camo was used because it's more durable. I'm no bowmaking expert, but I know black fiberglass laminations are used on some traditional bows. If they can make black lams, why couldn't they make solid black limbs???? No finish but maybe a clearcoat (matte). |

Danny Miller ixnayed my plans to paint a pair of my camo limbs. Not a durable idea according to him, but he offered to get me a set of unpainted from factory, now I just gotta find out if there's a spray paint that won't flake off. Any ideas guys?? Any bids on cobbled limbs for spares???? lololol.

I hate saying it but the Vixen limbs may end up to be the best limbs for this project.

No the brown ones:eek:, they also made black Vixen limbs with mag tips.

Looking at the Excal catalog and found Excal is now producing a crossbow with black carved tip limbs - the Apex!
Not sure if they ar "regular" limbs, or "light" limbs, but they would look good on the Relayer! |

Firstclue is the 11.8" power stroke gives fps at 220. My older vixen's 14" power stoke added 52 fps to make it 272 fps. I think those maybe the old carved tip limbs. They make new. If my reasoning is correct. A person could buy a new set of carved tip limbs if they wanted them.

Wabi, I bought some target limbs from Excal and they put the Vixen in the 90 lb range.
