Crossbows in Connecticut

What are the legalities of even carrying a crossbow? I want to stump shoot and such in the local forest. No license - but Im not hunting. Is there a law on the books that states you cant even go into the state forest without a license for a crossbow?

you guys ever get hassled by traditional bowhunterss, archers etc?

Connecticut
Crossbows legal only for handicapped hunters by permit.

asyou can see, it looks like you don't want to be in the woods if something is in season and risk being thought of as a poacher when there isn't. I'd check w/ your F&G dept.
