Crossbow Trigger Job
 

Does anyone know who can do a trigger job on the Excalibur Equinox crossbow? The factory trigger is not very good.

robert2155 there are a few, and I mean a few Excalibur triggers that are not up to par, but the Excalibur trigger is noted as a good trigger, one if not the best in the crossbow world. Is your crossbow brand new or have you had it for a while. I have heard that some have required a few shots to break them in, people have said that after they shot it for a while that it became alot better.


Dan Miller is the Excalibur Waranty for the US and he is very good. I have heard that he has fixed a few triggers. IF your in Canada, then contact the factory, they will look after you.

I have two Excalibur Equinoxes which came out this year (2007). About one hundred shots have been taken with each one. The triggers behave exactly the same...an unbelievable amount of takeup or drag before releasing. Accuracy is sure to suffer with these triggers. I'm willing to pay for a good custom trigger job. Who does them?

Call Dan Miller and talk to him.
I was told a few years ago, and I guess it is reasonable as well. While you can take a trigger for a gun and make it extreemly touchy or light on the trigger. While that could be ok with guns, with crossbows, there are greater pressures applying to the trigger assemblies (150-225lbs). I commend you in wanting to have someone, a professional to do the work you want, but I would also recomend you work with crossbows personal, not just a gunsmith because of the differences and the safety factor.

Ditto's on get ahold of Miller. Am not sure if your triggers are bad or you're expecting more than can be done, but Danny will take care of ya!!

Before you do anything, try spraying some teflon based luberecant on the trigger mechanism. It did wonders for mine.
