STS

I bought a couple of STS string silencers and guys you cannot believe how quiet my Exocet 200 is with my Xcel string and cat whiskers! I can now hear the arrow holding arm ring on the shot. I just got an email from someone who has on on his Exocet and he said he could hear the arrow hit his buck at twenty yards!
A couple of notes. One, if you don't want to shoot the bow with the STS then you have to remove the shole thing, bracket and all. Otherwise you'll cut your string off. Two, the brace height is at it's highest mark and can be lowered by only a quarter inch.
If the pads/cushions//stoppers/EDSs only last fifty shots I will be happy. I will only have them on to hunt.

Stop doing this stuff Don! You are making me start to itch again!! Bad enough I had to buy your string, now I am going to have to play with this now!! LOL!!

Where can these be bought at? Any shop, BHSS? Also, does this affect FPS?

Hey Jason, I think you can get them direct. http://www.stsarchery.com/
I can't see how they could affect speed to any degree if you use the highest brace height mark as your brace height. I like the way the bows shoot at their highest brace height or close to it.

i saw the product awhile back and was sold on the idea right away. i was going to buy some till isaw the 60.00 price tag so i just made some in the shop at a fraction of the cost. i used 3/16" X1'' flat steel with a 90 degree bend. i then drilled my holes in that for the riser and attached them with a 5/16 black cap bolt. on the 90 degree bend i used some limbsaver suppresors and viola! they work very well and the string is slapping a much larger surface than with the factory ones. lack of money can sure motivate and inspire creativity in a person. ;)

Thanks!! Just what I need is something else to buy..But I bet I do.

The 16 year old did a math prob for me cause I am dumb

Basically.. At 20 yards firing an arrow at 300fps the deer hears the arrow when it is 3.9 feet from the bow. Thats taking speed of sound ect into the equationso I needed a 16 YO to do it for me.

The thing you can't take into account is the reaction time of the deer.

Yep something I need to buy now.....I have my string set at the high mark so this shouldnt bother my sight setting.......what a tip.....

They say a deer will drop 1/3 of its body height when they take off in a run from a standing postion thats why alot of people end up shooting over the back or hit high......

Just got back from whacking some geese and ducks.........life is good!
James and Jason, you can make them yourself and they will probably be just as affective or possibly more so. Buy a pair of limbsavers for split limbs and attach them to some metal "L" shaped brackets. I am sure that when my EDSs are worn out I will figure out how to attach those to the brackets.

This was expected with your job right? Since it is seasonal? Just making sure you are not getting shafted because of your shoulder. How is the father in-law?
